Booking ARIES

If you aren’t sure what kind of event you would like to host, don’t be afraid to book a consultation first. We can work together to figure out what would be the best fit for your organization, your audience, and your goals.

Attention: the cost of the service does not include travel and/or lodging expenses.

Consultations

30 minutes - $50

1 hour - $85

In a consultation, I can work with you and give seasoned advice for folks working on their own sex-positive and/or political education projects.

I will look over your work, provide resources for learning, give advice, help outline accessible goals, and be available for continued conversation if you choose to book for further consultation. These sessions will most likely take place over Zoom, unless special circumstances require another meeting method.

Please, come prepared with questions, and be aware the time listed is the maximum, so your session can end early if we both feel you’ve gotten what you needed. I recommend that if you have materials for me to review, you provide those ahead of time so that I can be ready to begin at the start of our session.

Speaking engagements - panel

30 minutes - $100

1 hour - $150

My participation in a panel discussion is priced lower than an individual speaking engagement because the labor of preparing for the event is split with other scholars and experts.

I am prepared to participate in panels discussing a range of topics, both across difference and with like-minded others. For this service I would recommend a detailed conversation between myself and the event organizer about the topic at hand, the aims of the panel, and other presentation elements. Panel discussions require ample preparation and I would appreciate adequate time to prepare.

Speaking engagements - Ind.

1 hour - $250

An individual speaking engagement can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, this includes Q&A. In preparation for this service, I consult with the event organizer to curate my presentation with the organizations goals, the audience, and other specifics in mind.

A public speaking engagement can be more geared towards inspiration, education, resource mapping, or whatever is requested within reason. Additionally, relevant information or sections within the presentation may be emphasized if requested.

Visual accompaniment and handouts can also be requested.

Activities, roundtable discussions, and other interactive elements are the difference between a speaking engagement and a workshop. If you’d like to include these elements in your event, think about booking a Hoe Talks Workshop.

hoe talks Workshop

$250 minimum, includes consultation*

A Hoe Talks workshop is an interactive, socratic experience that I curate with the intended audience in mind. I collaborate with the organizer of the Hoe Talks event to create a tailored curriculum, craft engaging activities, moderate group discussions, and to relate the topic to the goals and lives of participants.

Having a detailed conversation about the expectations for this event is an essential part of this process. Event length, the number of participants, location, resources, and the amount of pre-planning this event requires are all factors in pricing.

This type of event requires planning on the front-end — I encourage you to book well ahead of time in order to ensure time for the necessary conversations, research, and development of the workshop. Every workshop looks different and thus requires adequate time and compensation.

Hoe Talks Workshops are priced on a sliding scale based on many elements. The details you provide about your event are essential to the price I quote because they tell me how much preparation this event entails. I offer discounted prices for BIPoC, Queer and Trans folks, and other marginalized people in order to make my services more accessible.

*An initial consultation is required for this service, but is included in the price of the workshop, unless you decide not to proceed.
